Kitchen remodel in North Raleigh

The owners had lived with the original builder-grade kitchen for over 20 years. Honey oak cabinets, laminate counters and a single fluorescent light made the room feel dark and cramped, and the small island left no room to sit. They wanted a bright kitchen where the family could gather, with seating for three and a proper cooking setup.

We stripped the room back to the studs and updated the plumbing and electrical to suit the new layout. In went custom shaker cabinets in slate blue-gray, a larger island with a solid white oak top, white quartz counters and a handmade zellige tile backsplash. We added a vented range hood trimmed in oak, a farmhouse sink under the window, brass hardware, three linen pendant lights and wide plank oak flooring that runs into the dining room.

The job was scheduled for 8 weeks and finished in 7. Our project manager sent photo updates at each stage, and we returned the following week to adjust a cabinet door during the final touch-up visit.
